The application deadline of the young composer competition is 30th September, 2013. In 2014, Peter Eötvös will assess the submitted anonymous scores and will judge the award issued by the Tokyo Opera City Foundation.
The Japanese Toru Takemitsu Composition Award was established to encourage and support a younger generation of composers. This Award is unique in that each year only one judge (without committee) is responsible for the outcome. Each year, the judge examines the submitted scores and selects by his own judgment the compositions to be awarded. After Tristan Murail (2010), Salvatore Sciarrino (2011) Toshio Hosokawa (2012) and Sir Harrison Birtwistle (2013), Peter Eötvös will be the judge of the Award for 2014.
Application deadline: 30 September 2013. 18:00
