GENERAL INFORMATION
The Peter Eötvös Contemporary Music Foundation announces a workshop for composers between 12th-16th November 2016, in Budapest Music Center (Budapest, Hungary).
The call is open for all nationalities. The course is suitable for composer students and young professional composers.

Course program:
Pieces written by the participant composers.
Language of the course: English, German, French, Hungarian

Application deadline: 1st September, 2016
Age limit for active participants is 35 years, observers are accepted without age limit.
Application material:
online application form, curriculum vitae with list of works, photo, recording of composition (if available). Online application submitted through the website of the foundation (www.eotvosmusicfoundation.org) is obligatory.
Applicants shall submit composition(s): either solo or chamber pieces using the following instruments (in any variations):
flute, oboe, clarinet, percussion - 1 player (tam-tam, bass drum, 3 triangle, vibraphone, crotals, 4 Japanese wind bells [Furin], 4 rins, 2 timpani). , piano, violin, viola, cello.
The duration of the composition is maximum 10 minutes. The requirement for admission is to submit a composition, which is more than 70% complete by the time of the application.
The selection of the active participants will take place based on the scores and application material provided by the applicants.
Application material for observers: online application form only.
Confirmation of the active status will be sent before 15th September, 2016.
The complete composition (score and parts) must be submitted electronically until 15th October.
Those who are not selected, are also welcomed as observer during the master course. Concerning the unique program we highly recommend to consider this opportunity as well.
COURSE CONTRIBUTION
Selected active participants: 400 € / 60.000 HUF for citizens of Hungary (to be paid until 15 October, 2016)
Observers: 100 € / 10.000 HUF for citizens of Hungary (to be paid before the course starts)

Partial attendance gives no right for fee reduction.
The course fee includes extra programs: during the course all participants receive tickets for jazz concerts in the Opus Jazz Club in Budapest Music Center and they can take part in a public meeting and concerts.

The course fee does not include travel, accommodation and meal, participants shall organize their accommodation. Upon request, we can help to find private or hotel accommodation within walking distance of the venue.
SCHOLARSHIPS
In total 3 active scholarships are available, applicants should indicate their request on the application form and a recommendation letter must also be enclosed.
Please note: we can not accept requests after we close the application process.
PROGRAM OF THE MASTER COURSE AND CONCERT
During the master class, the professors and the participants will do analysis and reading of the pieces with the musicians of the ensemble. They will present all possibility of using the instruments, and discuss the instrument handling in detail. The best 4-6 pieces selected by the professors and the ensemble will be performed on a closing concert.

The rehearsals and the concert will be partially recorded on video and a short professional documentary film will be available online after the course.
The scores of the pieces will be projected "live" and the audience can follow them during the concert.
Editio Musica Budapest will engage the best composers to publish the scores.
DIPLOMAS AND CERTIFICATES
Active participants will receive diploma, observers will receive attendance certificate, signed by all professors.
